A glance at the filter indicator lets you know when it is time to swap the filter, which should be changed every 120 gallons or about 6 months, based on average family usage and 120-gallon filter life, for best results. Made without BPA and comes with 2 Brita Elite water filters. The Elite filters have Advanced Carbon Core Technology to reduce more than 3x the contaminants of standard Brita filters. They reduce 99% of Lead and are certified to reduce Chlorine taste and odor, Asbestos, Mercury, Benzene, Cadmium, and more*. Usage Directions: Your water filter pitcher can be ready to use in a few steps. No presoak or rinse required. Wash your hands before touching the filter. Hand wash dispenser, lid and reservoir. Insert the filter into the reservoir. Add cold tap water. Discard first dispenser of filtered water or use to water plants. Replace the water filter every 120 gallons or 6 months. Substances reduced may not be in all users water. Do not use with hot water (85F max).
